Rules of Competition - Spring 2025

U6 Division: (5 v 5) (No GKs). The duration of the match will be 4 quarters of 8 minutes each. Water breaks are MANDATORY at the end of each quarter!! There are no goalies in this age division. In front of each goal is an ARC- the players are not to stand inside of this area. However, players may enter the arc if the ball is inside of the area. NO HEADING. Substitutions can be made on your throw-in, on either team's goal kick or on the kick off. There are no substitutions on a corner kick. Goals cannot be scored from the kick-off as the ball MUST touch 2 players. Everyone needs to remember that this is an instructional division, standings are not kept. Everyone MUST play 50% of every game. Failure to do so may result in a suspension of the coach as determined by the Director of Coaching.

U8 Division: 7 v 7 (No GKs). The duration of the match will be 4 quarters of 10 minutes each. Water breaks are

MANDATORY at the end of each quarter!!! There will be indirect kicks only and no penalty kicks. The OFFSIDES rule will NOT BE enforced unless blatant (NO "CHERRY PICKING"). NO HEADING. Substitutions will be allowed on your throw-in, on either team's goal kick and on the kick-off only- not on a corner kick. Goals cannot be scored from the kick-off as the ball must touch 2 players. Standings are not kept AND there are no play-offs in this age group as it is still instructional. Everyone MUST play 50% of every game. Failure to do so may result in a suspension of the coach as determined by the Director of Coaching.

Ul0 Division: Girls 7 v 7 /Boys 7 v 7 (including,GKs). The duration of the match will be 4 quarters of 12 ó minutes each.

Water breaks are MANDATORY at the end of each quarter!!! There are goalies in this age division; however, no one

child is to play goalie for more than half of the game. There will be both direct and indirect kicks and penalty kicks.

NO HEADING. There will be a "buildout line" for when the GK has the ball. The offsides rule will be enforced from the buildout line. Substitutions will be allowed on your throw-in, on either team's goal kick and on the kick-off only - not on a corner kick. Goals cannot be scored from the kick-off as the ball must touch 2 players. Standings are kept in this age division and there are play-offs at the end of the season. Everyone MUST play 50% of every game. Failure to do so may result in a suspension of the coach as determined by the Director of Coaching.

U12 Division: (9 v 9) (including GKs). The duration of the match will be 4 quarters of 15 minutes each. Water breaks are MANDATORY at the end of each quarter!!! One goalkeeper may play the entire game. Goals can be scored from the kick-off. NO HEADING. Substitutions will be allowed on your throw-in, on either team's goal kick or on kick-off only not at a corner kick. Standings are kept in this age division and there are play-offs at the end of the season. Everyone MUST play 50% of every game. Failure to do so may result in a forfeit of the game and/or a suspension of the coach as determined by the Director of Coaching.

U14 Division: (ll v ll} (including GKs). The duration of the match will be 2 halves of 35 minutes each. Water breaks will

be based on weather conditions as determined by the referee. Substitutions will be allowed on your throw-in, on

either team's goal kick or on the kick-off- not at a corner kick. Goals can be scored from the kick-off. All other FIFA

rules apply. Standings are kept in this age division and there are play-offs at the end of the season. Everyone MUST play 50% of every game. Failure to abide by the rules may result in a forfeit of the game and/or suspension of the coach as determined by the Director of Coaching.

U15/U19 Division: (ll v ll), (including GKs). The duration of the match will be 2 halves of 40 minutes each. Water

breaks will be based on weather conditions as determined by the referee. Substitutions will be allowed on your throw in, on either team's goal kick or on the kick-off - not at a corner kick. Goals can be scored from the kick-off. All other FIFA rules apply. Standings are kept in this age division and there are play-offs at the end of the season. Everyone MUST play 50% of every game. Failure to abide by the rules may result in a forfeit of the game and/or suspension of the coach as determined by the Director of Coaching.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY CLUB RULES WILL RESULT IN YOUR GAME BEING FORFEITED AND/OR THE SUSPENSION OF THE COACH AS DETERMINED BY THE DOC.

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY: COACHES, PARENTS, SPECTATORS and PLAYERS MUST ADHERE TO THE RPBSI AND FYSA CODES OF CONDUCT OR WILL BE SUBJECTED TO SANCTIONS INCLUDING SUSPENSION AND/OR EXPULSION FROM CLUB.

COACHES WILL DEMONSTRATE AND TEACH GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AT ALL TIMES AND NOT  PROMOTE OR ENCOURAGE THE "RUNNING UP" OF SCORES.

50% RULE: COACHES WILL BE MONITORED FOR ADHERENCE AND SANCTIONED ACCORDINGLY IF VIOLATED. SANCTIONS WILL INCLUDE FORFEIT AND/OR SUSPENSION.

PLAYDOWN RULE: IF TEAM DOES NOT HAVE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF PLAYERS THEN THE OTHER TEAM WILL PLAY DOWN ONE PLAYER.

• EXAMPLE #1: (9 v 9 GAME) ONE TEAM HAS 8 PLAYERS SO OTHER TEAM WILL FIELD 8 PLAYERS
• EXAMPLE #2: (9 v 9 GAME) ONE TEAM HAS 7 PLAYERS SO OTHER TEAM WILL FIELD 8 PLAYERS
• EXAMPLE #3: (ll v ll GAME) ONE TEAM HAS 7 PLAYERS SO OTHER TEAM WILL FIELD 10

STYLE OF PLAY: COACHES WILL BE MONITORED FOR ADHERENCE AND SANCTIONED ACCORDINGLY IF VIOLATED. SANCTIONS MAY INCLUDE FORFEIT OF GAME AND/OR SUSPENSION OF COACH.

• COACHES HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO NOT PERMIT ANY PLAYERS TO STAND OR POSITION THEMSELVES IN A MANNER NOT CONSTANT WITH THE FLOW OF THE PLAY. WHEN BALL IS IN OPPONENTS END, PLAYERS FROM ATTACKING TEAM ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE FAR FROM CENTER LINE. LIKEWISE, PLAYERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO RACE BACK TO EXTREME DEFENSIVE POSITIONS.

• ALL PLAYERS MUST BE IN CONTINUOUS MOTION WITH THE FLOW OF THE GAME. NO PLAYER SHALL BE INSTRUCTED OR PERMITTED TO "STAND STILL" OR "STAND IN AN AREA" DURING PLAY.

MERCY RULE: GAME IS NOT CONSIDERED A FOREJT BUT GAME DOES END ONLY WHEN 8-GOAL DIFFERENTIAL OCCURS IN 2ND HALF. COACH WILL RECEIVE WARNING FOR 18r OFFENSE AND WILLBE SUSPENDED FOR MINIMUM OF ONE GAME FOR 2ND OFFENSE.
